Founded by Ms Parimala Bhat in 2001, Snehankit Helpline emerged from a simple yet powerful belief that visual impairment should never limit a person’s ability to access education, information, technology, employment, or opportunity. What began as a committed effort to support visually impaired individuals has evolved into a trusted organisation working across education, accessibility, rehabilitation, technology, skill development, and independent living. Over the years, we have remained focused on helping individuals build confidence, strengthen abilities, and participate more actively in society. Every initiative we undertake reflects our commitment to inclusion, dignity, accessibility, and independence.
For more than two decades, Snehankit Helpline has worked to create opportunities that help visually impaired individuals learn, grow, participate, and live with greater confidence and independence. Our journey is rooted in the belief that accessibility opens doors to possibility.
Everything we do is guided by one belief that accessibility creates opportunity. Through education, technology, rehabilitation, mobility training, and community support, we help visually impaired individuals build confidence, strengthen their abilities, and move towards greater independence in everyday life.
A world where visual impairment never limits education, employment, mobility, participation, or opportunity. We envision communities where accessibility is integrated into everyday life and where every individua.
To create accessible pathways through education, technology, rehabilitation, advocacy, and community support that enable visually impaired individuals to participate fully and independently in society.
Blindness is not the barrier. Lack of accessibility is. When education, information, technology, and opportunities become accessible, individuals gain the confidence and skills needed to shape their own future.
Since 2001, Snehankit Helpline has steadily expanded its efforts to create greater accessibility, educational opportunities, skill development programmes, and independent living support for visually impaired individuals. Each milestone reflects a continued commitment to inclusion, confidence, and the belief that opportunity should be accessible to all.
Snehankit Helpline was founded by Ms. Parimala Bhat with a commitment to create greater accessibility, educational opportunities, and independence for visually impaired individuals. The organisation began with a simple belief that every person deserves equal access to learning, information, and opportunity.
The Snehankit N.K.T. Centre was established at N.K.T. College, Thane, extending educational guidance, skill development opportunities, and support services to a larger number of visually impaired individuals.
Braille resources, audio books, mobility training, assistive technology support, educational assistance, and independent living initiatives continued expanding. The organisation strengthened its commitment to making accessibility a reality in everyday life.
Snehankit Helpline continues to create pathways towards education, accessibility, employment, inclusion, and independence. Guided by the belief that accessibility creates opportunity, the organisation remains committed to helping visually impaired individuals build confident and meaningful lives.
